PERSONAL | Colour

Ons huis telt veel witte (strak gestucte) muren. Daar is bewust voor gekozen, aangezien wij al snel na de koopoverdracht en een grondige renovatie in ons huis trokken. Een interieur moet 'groeien' om er echt een thuis van te maken, dus wilden we niet een compleet, kant-en-klaar interieur creëren terwijl wij er nog woonden.

In de woonkamer is een op maat gemaakte boekenkast geplaatst van 2,5 meter breedt, van de grond tot plafond hoogte. Toen de boekenkast gevuld was en de meubels in het huis stonden namen wij de tijd om het effect van alle kleuren en het binnenvallende licht te bekijken, voordat we de accentkleuren kozen. De bovenlichtjes van glas-in-lood brengen veel kleur in het huis. Rood, geel, beetje paars.

Buiten wit, zwart, cognac, metaal (RVS) en hout, kiezen we nu meer kleuren. Bijvoorbeeld in de herfst kleuren de bomen aan de voorzijde van de woonkamer prachtig mosterd-/okergeel, wat nu een van de accentkleuren in de woonkamer is geworden. Ook is het rood, wat in het glas-in-lood voorkomt, een accentkleur geworden. Nu we ander-half jaar in ons huis wonen vullen we ons interieur aan met vonsten van reizen en persoonlijke foto's, prints en kunst.

Our home has many white plastered walls. That's a conscious choice, as we moved into our home soon after completing the sale and extensive renovation. An interior has to 'grow' to make a house into a home, so we didn't want to create a ready-made interior up front.

In our living room we have a 2,5 meter wide, custom-made, floor-to-ceiling bookcase. After filling the bookcase and placing the furniture, we took some time to study the effect of all the different colours, and of the light that pours in from outside, before choosing which colours to use as accents. The top panes of the leadlights bring in much colour. Red, yellow, a little bit of purple.

Besides white, black, cognac, stainless steel, and wood, we are now choosing more colours. In autumn the trees in front of our living room change to a wonderful mustard/ochre yellow, which we now use as the accent colours in our living room. Red, contained in the leadlights, has also become an accent colour. After one and one-half year, our home is filling with discoveries from travels, personal photos, prints, and art.

NEWS | Isabel Marant Designs for H&M

Spannend nieuws: "H&M kondigt vol trots de samenwerking voor dit najaar aan met de Parijse designer Isabel Marant. Met haar ongedwongen ontwerpen heeft Isabel Marant de ‘Parijse chic’-stijl sterk beïnvloed en veel succes geoogst. Door het mixen van urban attitude, boho elegantie en rock-‘n-roll-spirit creëert ze echte Franse allure. Voor H&M zal Isabel Marant een garderobe ontwerpen van musthave-items, geïnspireerd op haar eigen karakteristieke stijl. De collectie is vanaf 14 november 2013 in 250 winkels wereldwijd en online verkrijgbaar en bestaat uit kleding en accessoires voor dames en jongeren. Isabel Marant zal ook – voor het eerst – een herencollectie ontwerpen.

“Ik ben gevleid door deze samenwerking. H&M werkt met de beste designers en het is voor mij dan ook een grote eer om uitgenodigd te worden. Mijn streven is iets wezenlijks te creëren dat vrouwen in hun dagelijkse leven willen dragen, met een zekere zorgeloosheid die volgens mij heel erg Parijs is: je kleedt je stylish zonder er teveel aandacht aan te besteden en ziet er toch sexy uit. De collectie is doordrenkt van dit soort easiness en attitude. BINNENKIJKEN | Paris Apartment

Hieronder foto's van het geweldige appartement van Jean-Christophe Aumas gelegen in het tiende arondisement van Parijs. Als artistic director van het creative agentschap Voici-Voilà, ontwerpt hij etalages en het decor van speciale events voor klanten als Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Céline, etc.

Aumas heeft een wand zwart geverfd met in de rechterbovenhoek drie blauwe driehoeken. Een andere wand heeft een roze rechthoek, daaronder een gele lijn en een zwarte "eye-liner" lijn die net onder de kroonlijst loopt. "Ik hou van dingen die omlijst zijn", legt Aumas uit, "Deze truc gebruik ik vaak in mijn etalages." 

"Ik zie mijn appartement als een labratorium," zegt Aumas. "Ik kan een nieuw meubelstuk kopen en daar dan alles omheen organiseren."


These are pictures from the amazing apartment of Jean-Christophe Aumas, located in Paris' tenth arrondissement. As the artistic director of the creative agency Voice-Voilà, he design shop displays and the décor of special events for customers such as Louis Vuitton, Lacoste and Céline.


Aumas has painted one wall black, with three blue triangle in the top right corner. Another wall features a pink triangle above a yellow line and a black "eye-liner"-like line just underneath the cornice. "I love things that are framed", Aumas explains. "I often apply this trick in my displays."

"I view my apartment as a lab", Aumas continues, "I can buy a new piece of furniture and organize the rest around it."
